Map hosting on Microsoft Azure

Map hosting on Microsoft Azure is available starting MapTiler Desktop 10.0.

Hosting your own map on Microsoft Azure is extremely easy with MapTiler Desktop. In the step when you are selecting the output format, you have an option to send your map directly to Cloud hosting.

Upload your map to Microsoft Azure Blob Storage

After you select Cloud hosting and click on Render, you will be first asked to select a folder for saving MBTiles file on your local computer. After you select the folder and the rendering is finished, you will be asked to enter your credentials for either Amazon S3, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.

Select Azure tab; enter your Access key (Storage account name) and Secret key (Key) from Microsoft Azure Portal; type your Bucket name and click on Start upload to initiate the transfer.

When the upload is finished, you can click on one of the two links, which will open an HTTP or HTTPS version of the map in your web browser.

Alternatively, you can select to render your map into MBTiles or GeoPackage format, select where it will be saved and after rendering is finished, click on Upload to cloud button, which will bring you to the same window as described above.

Manage your maps in a cloud bucket

Next to your credentials, you can find a Manage button. It will open the remote bucket you specify in the Bucket name and you can delete any map uploaded there.

For command-line options for hosting on Microsoft Azure see the MapTiler manual.
